Today I went to work with my mom. She is a chef and runs a business called “Food and Health Communications” from home. I started my day at 9:00 by viewing and critiquing a power point show for kids called the 8 Applications of Health. It is about being healthy and I had a few good suggestions. After that my mom’s employees arrived, one of them with her eight year old son, Noah.
After they had arrived, I was put to work using the laminating machine. This machine was really cool, you would feed something through it and it would seal it. I was given about two hundred pieces of paper to laminate. That job took me a while. When I was done with that job I took my lunch break. I was given twenty minutes for lunch, and then I had to go back to work.
Once my lunch break was over I was assigned to cut the excess laminating paper off the pages. That job was very tedious and took a while. When I was done I reported back to my boss to show her what I had done. She was very proud of me for working so hard and rewarded me with $30. I had finished at 2:00, and was very tired, but nonetheless I had fun.
